Styles By Alimma is committed to safeguarding the privacy or your personal information (PI) and as such this Privacy Policy explains how we (Styles By Alimma) process your information, this includes activities in collecting, receiving, recording, storing, updating, using, transferring and erasing your data. This policy applies to all our various customer touchpoints which includes our website(s), mobile applications and forms part of our websites, adverts, Lead generation activities. By visiting or using any of our websites or mobile applications you agree to the terms of this policy as updated from time to time. All updates on changes on the privacy policy will be communicated to you.

Scope
This Policy is applicable to all data subjects (people, natural or juristic persons, to whom PI relates) (“you” ,”your”) who’s PI we collect regardless of the country where you live or work. This policy applies to all PI, whether it was provided to us through our websites, mobile applications, our stores, loyalty program or through any other form of communications with you such as email, telephone, or otherwise (“Channels”), through or by third parties or tools that collect PI.

Personal Identifiable Information (PII)
Personal Identifiable Information (also referred to as personal data in this policy) means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (the data subject). An identifiable person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as name, an identification number, location information, an online identifier or by one or more factors specific to the physical, psychological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of the natural person. 

What Personal Information do we collect?
To conduct business with you, we may collect your personal details such as your name, contact details including mobile number and email address, debit or credit card number in cases where you are paying us through bank cards (as service provided by 3rd party service providers), location information, online identifier and personal preferences. 

In respect to our employees and fashion models, beside information relation to identification of an individual such as name and identification document details, we may collect  information relating to gender, race,  marital status, ethnic or social origin, age, disability (mostly as required by labour laws);, contact information such as e-mail address physical address and telephone number, biometric information and family/next of kin details.

The PI we collect about you is dependent on

• The transaction you are completing,
• The reason you are communicating or engaging with us, and
• The Channel used to communicate with us.

Your Personal Information may also include information you elect to share publicly, including on social media and customer forums. We may also collect basic information about your friends and family, personal interests and online activities.

When do we collect your Personal Information?
We collect three types of information from you:

1. Information that you provide to us;
2. Information we collect or receive from others with your consent;
3. Information that is derived through automated tracking mechanisms and technology.

Below are the details on when we collect your information.

• Voluntarily provide us with information when you interact with us, for example when you send us online enquiries, or you subscribe to or consent to receiving newsletters or other communications from us, call us etc. through our immediate online networks or third party networks.
• Browse, visit or participate in our various Channels.
• Register an online profile on our websites or apps to purchase goods.
• Purchase, return, exchange or enquire about products and service from us
• Agree to the terms and conditions of credit applications and other products and services that contain provisions dealing with the use or disclosure of your personal information;
• Enter our promotional competitions.
• Make general enquiries, lodge complaints, and communicate with us.
• Apply for vacancies on our Careers portal or through emails.
• When you sign up with us as a fashion model
• When we hire you as an employee or a consultant.

From time to time we collect your PI from trusted third parties, in which case we shall ensure that you have provided your consent for your PI to be disclosed to us. Where that consent has not been provided, we will inform you of the personal information we are processing within the time stipulated in the law.

CCTV installations
Our premises are equipped with CCTV cameras for the purposes of safety and security.

Use of cookies
We also collect your PI using cookies about when and how you use our websites, apps or when you click on an advert of ours that is contained on another website. We do not store sensitive personal information, such as mailing addresses, account passwords, etc. in the Cookies e use.

A cookie is a small text file that is stored on your computer or mobile device when you use it. Cookies hold information such as the identity of the computer or device you used to access our Channels, your server address, domain name, the time and date that you visited our channels, pages, product and documentation that you accessed or viewed and which internet browser you used. 

We do this so that we can provide you with more personalised service, communication and products by better understanding your browsing and purchasing behaviour; track, count and analyse website visits and usage data; understand product preferences and popularity; improve our websites and your online shopping experience. We use trusted third party services including Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyse our users’ usage.

By completing an order or signing up, you agree to receive

• Emails associated with finalising your order, which may contain relevant offers from third parties.
• Emails asking you to review Styles By Alimma and your purchase

When you sign up to receive marketing material, as you complete your order through the online platform, we may send you service review surveys and  promotional emails, SMS from Styles By Alimma. If you do not wish to receive this information and/or commercial communications, you may at any time opt to “Unsubscribe” in the e-mail or the SMS, and we will immediately stop sending the aforementioned information.

Use of third party services
Styles By Alimmauses Google Analytics and for marketing and personal data optimization purposes. We also use Google Digital Marketing to propose targeted offers. 

We also use social media networks (Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Pinterest and Twitter) to propose targeted offers to our customers of products as well as store locations.

Styles By Alimma uses Shopify to facilitate online transactions. The information you provide during the transaction is thus collected by Shopify on our behalf. Such information is only used for the purposes of online transactions and can be accessed by contacting Styles By Alimma with the request through (designated email).

To facilitate online card payment, the company uses the services of Paystack Payments Limited. The solution provided by the company is integrated with our online sales platform. As such, we share basic information to facilitate completion of your order such as name and the provided email address.

We utilise the services of Shopify, a data processor located outside the country. Our arrangement with Shopify involves the secure transfer, processing, and storage of data. Third-Party Analytics
In addition to Shopify, we may engage other third parties for analytics purposes. These parties may have access to personal information, and such access is strictly for analytics and improvement of our services. We implement safeguards to ensure the security and confidentiality of your data in such collaborations.

Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you are under the age of 18, please do not provide any personal information on our website.

Retention and Sharing of your personal data
Styles By Alimma will not use your PI other than for the purpose for which it was provided or collected. Your Personal information will be processed here in Nairobi, at our Headquarters, Spectrum Business Park, Baba Dogo. Your data may be shared as follows:

• Internal 

Styles By Alimma may transact business with affiliated parties. From time to time we may share your personal information within the company structures. Such information may be used for internal business, operational, as well as for purposes consistent with the purpose for which the information was originally collected or subsequently authorised by you.

• External

We may disclose or transfer your personal information with our service providers. Normally, these would include the company the 3rd parties listed in this policy, lawyers, auditors and consultants.

 We may also, from time to time, employ service providers to perform services on our behalf, such as hosting our data (including your personal information), websites, products and other applications; fulfilling and processing orders for our products; or performing other administrative services for us. Prior to allowing these service providers to access your personal information, we will enter into a formal agreement with them to ensure that they handle and process the information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law and ensure they have adequate technical and organisational controls in place to safeguard your personal data.

We will not share your personal information with third parties outside of Styles By Alimma for their marketing purposes without your consent. However, we may share such information with our counterparties as described for the purposes disclosed to you at the time you provided the information, or as subsequently authorised by you or as permitted by applicable laws. 

As part of our service provision, we may rely on third-party servers, databases co-located with hosting providers, resident in foreign jurisdictions, which constitutes the transfer of your personal data to computers or servers outside Kenya. In such instances, your personal data will only be transferred outside the country after the following considerations – as provided by the law:

• Existence of appropriateness of data protection safeguards during transfer;
• The transfers is to a country where adequate level of protection is ensured;
• The transfer is based on necessity and approved by the Office of Data Protection Commissioner; or
• If you have given consent to such transfer.

• To be informed of the use your personal data is to be put by us
• Request access to any personal information held about you by us and details of the processing of your personal information by us;
• Object to or restrict the processing of your personal data (including profiling), including where the processing is unlawful or no longer necessary;
• Have inaccurate personal data amended or erased, and to have incomplete personal data completed;
• To delete false or misleading data about them.

 In exercise your rights, you may:

• Withdraw any consent you have given, or are deemed to have given, in relation to our collection or use of your personal information;
• Request the erasure of your personal data where: (i) the processing was not lawful, (ii) where the data is no longer necessary for the purpose which it was collected, (iii) where you withdraw consent which was the lawful basis of processing, (iv) where the erasure is necessary to comply with legal obligation, (iv) where processing was for direct marketing, or (v) you object to processing and there is no overriding legitimate interest for us to continue processing.
• Request to receive your personal data in a format suitable for transmission to another data controller;
• Object to processing of your personal information for direct marketing.

Changes to this privacy policy
This Privacy Policy is effective as of 21st September 2019. The latest version of our Privacy Policy is always available on our Websites. We may need to update or change our Privacy Policy from time to time, and we will notify you regarding any material changes to this Privacy Policy using the channels that we normally use to communicate. Your continued use of our websites, products and services after you have been notified of any amendments to the Privacy Policy will represent your acknowledgment of any changes and your agreement to adhere to the updated Privacy Policy.
